Ruth serves as our deacon of hospitality, which is to say she makes sure that no one who walks through our doors is left standing alone. From the coffee on Sunday morning to the meals that appear on a family’s doorstep after a new baby or a hard diagnosis, her fingerprints are on the practical love of this church.
She leads a cheerful team of greeters and kitchen volunteers, and she has a near-magical ability to remember names, dietary quirks, and exactly who is new this week. Ruth believes, with good biblical reason, that a shared meal can do what a hundred announcements cannot.
Ruth is warm, unflappable, and quietly tireless. If you’ve ever felt welcomed here, there’s a fair chance she had something to do with it.
